Wis 9:13-18b Ps 90:3-6,12-17 Phlm 9-10,12-17 Lk 14:25-33 CCD at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Banquete, BEGAN THIS PAST WEEK!!! Love your Child’s Soul; enroll him or her in CCD. One week Grace period, failure to enroll on time can and will prevent your child from making 1st Communion and/or Confirmation on time. Sundays: Classes begin at 8:30 AM and end at 9:45 AM. (1st Communion) Wednesdays: Classes begin at 4:45PM til 5:55 PM. (1ST, 2ND, 4TH, and 5TH) Classes begin at 6:00PM and end at 6:55PM (6th, 7th, Pre-Con., Conf. H.S.) Youth Group: 7:00 PM - 9:05PM (Gabriel & Alicia Rios) BE READY AND IN CLASS 3 to 10 minutes BEFORE Class Begins. Roll is taken exactly at scheduled time, if a person walks in the MIDDLE of roll call, the student will be tardy. Policy regarding Tardiness: Three tardies equal one absence. If a student has three absences in pre- Communion, Communion, pre-Confirmation or Confirmation, then that year of CCD will not count at ALL. Tardies- if the Teacher or DRE or Church Secretary is notified 24 hours before class about a tardy, and if makeup work is done, the tardy will not count. All other tardies are not excused. Absences: If parent or legal guardian of child notifies the teacher or DRE or Church Secretary 24 hours or more in advance, and if assigned makeup work is turned in, the absence is not counted. If that protocol is not observed, or, if student does not turn in work which the Pastor assigned by the NEXT CCD class, then the absence is not excused and it counts as an absence. *** CCD Student and family members must attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation as a Rule of Thumb, at Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, NOT another parish*** There may be exceptions to the Rule, but going to another Church for Sundays and Holy Days cannot be the "norm” or “default” for a student who is working towards CCD credit at St. Michael’s Parish. Consistently going to one Church for Holy Days and another Church for CCD is inconsistent and counterproductive. In rare circumstances and for very good reasons, the Pastor of Saint Michael's Parish and the Pastor of another Parish will agree to have this strange agreement, but only if absolutely necessary. Failure to attend Mass every Sunday and Holy Days of Obligation, except for emergency reasons explained by the Catechism of the Catholic Church, renders CCD attendance null and void. When rare circumstances require Mass attendance on Sundays or Holy Days at a parish other than Saint Michael's, notify the pastor no later than 24 hours beforehand. |
